Catch a Drink and Find a Job at a ‘Pink Slip Party’ Thursday Night at Whisky River

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A national report recently ranked Jacksonville amongst the hottest job markets in America. A week after Jacksonville’s unemployment rate dropped for the third consecutive month to 10.8 percent, unemployed workers on the First Coast will have an opportunity to interview with multiple hiring employers at a unique hiring event this Thursday evening.

To help local residents get connected with jobs, Jacksonville-based JobDirectUSA is teaming up with Virgin Mobile to host a ‘Pink Slip Party’ that allows job seekers to mix and mingle with recruiters of companies looking to interview, and hire, in a more informal setting than your traditional board room – think speed dating for the unemployed.

According to JobsDirectUSA, the job networking party is the most fun and laid back job interview most who attend will ever experience. To date, Pink Slip Parties as well as various forms of social networking have helped many workers across the U.S. land employment during troubled times.

In addition, representatives from both Jacksonville chapters of the Florida Staffing Association as well as the Society of Human Resource Management will be on hand to network with prospective job candidates.

The Pink Slip Party will take place on Thursday, June 24, from 4 – 8 PM at Whisky River at the St. John’s Town Center.  Job Seekers are encouraged to dress to impress, bring copies of their resume and be ready to network. There will also be a pink carpet display on site at which guests will have an opportunity to film their 30 second commercials.
